BLOOM! is the publication created in response to my Undergraduate Dissertation, which explored the relationship between social media and young graphic designers’ mental health.

The publication was created on the basis of needing a positive and supportive space to celebrate works-in-progress, celebrating the whole process and attempting to reduce the emotional weight that a poor-performing piece of work can cause.
This project was submission based, inviting students from across the three years of the Graphic Design course at my University to submit their work. Rules were created around the sense of relaxation and balance, and images were sourced from my personal archives. One of the major parts of the project was developing a custom display typeface. It was combined with sans-serif type to highlight that sense of balance. The publication expands past the zine-form and into t-shirts, stickers, a hypothetical website and Instagram profile.
